Leonhardt, Fredericka (30 July 1861 - 21 Dec. 1944)
Funeral services for Mrs. Fred Leonhardt, 84, who died this morning at about 9:30, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Vane Gokey, will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 at the Zink Funeral Home, where the body is lying in state, and at 2:00 o’clock at Christ Evangelical Lutheran church. The Rev. J. Brandt will be in charge.
Burial will be made in Memorial cemetery, Dorchester, Wis.

Last rites for Mrs. Fred Leonhardt, 83, who died Dec. 21, were held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 at the Zink Funeral Home, and at 2:00 o’clock at Christ Evangelical Lutheran church. Burial was made in the family plot in Dorchester Memorial cemetery. The Rev. J. Brandt conducted the services.
Six grand sons of the deceased served as pallbearers: Alvin, Vernon, Robert and Chester Jacobi, Gordon Leonhardt and Vane Gokey, Jr.
The flowers were carried by four great grand children: Donald Lampi, Larry and Warren Sterling, Audrey Jacobi and Bert and Norma Martens.
Fredericka Martens was born July 30, 1861, in Mechlenburg, Germany. She came to America with her parents when she was only a child and lived in Manitowoc until she was married [line missing due to misprint]
After their marriage they came to their farm near Dorchester where they lived until 1921 when Mr. Leonhardt retired.
They moved to the village of Abbotsford and in 1930 celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.
After Mr. Leonhardt’s death on April 14, 1936, she continued to live here until last winter when she visited her children during the cold weather.
She had been failing in health the past summer and fall and declined rapidly after Wednesday. She died Thursday of complications of old age at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Vane Gokey.
Mrs. Leonhardt was a charter member of St. Peter’s Lutheran church at Dorchester and after moving to Abbotsford was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran church and the Ladies’ Aid.
She leaves five children, Mrs. Henry (Ida) Jacobi, Mrs. Edwin (Clara) Jacobi, Mrs. Vane (Martha) Gokey, and Fred Leonhardt, all of Abbotsford, and Mrs. Oscar (Lena) Laack, of Dorchester, Wis. Her husband and two small children preceded her in death.
There are 16 grand children and 13 great grand children.
