West, Charles (1873 - Dec. 1944)
The body of Charles West lay in state at the Zink Funeral Home until this afternoon at 2:00 o’clock when funeral services were conducted by the Rev. G. E. Griffiths. Miss Jessie Merrill sang several hymns with Mrs. W. R. Berger as accompanist.
Burial was made in the Abbotsford cemetery with Henry Duellman, Adolph Kalepp, Al Hunt, Art Scheibe, Joe Moore and Wesley Kauffman serving as pallbearers.
In his youth, Mr. West, with his older brother, Ed. homesteaded a farm in Montana. He later was employed in Minneapolis as a teamster for a coal firm.
During the drouth years when Abbotsford farmers sent their cattle north, Mr. West took care of a herd near Spirit Lake for Oscar Olson. He brought the cattle back home and was *** Note: The remainder of this article was missing.
