Dallman, William Albert (17 March 1896 - 22 May 1971)

William Albert Dallman, 75, of Brandon, Fla., formerly of Greenwood, died May 22 at his home of a heart attack. Mr. Dallman, son of Frederick and Minnie (Karow) Dallman, was born March 17, 1896, in Fond du Lac County. He attended school in Lomira.

He was in the electric utility business for over 40 years. He was employed by Northern States from 1924 to 1929; worked as superintendent at the water and light department for the city of Colby from 1929 to 1937 and in 1937 became the first manager of Clark Electric Cooperative in Greenwood. He also served on the city council and was city assessor. He retired in 1964.

The Dallmans moved to Buffalo City in 1964, where he was employed as manager of the Buffalo Electric Cooperative at Alma for nine months due to an emergency. In August of 1970 they moved to Brandon, Fla. Mr. Dallman was married February 13, 1940, to Lucille Mero at Maywood.

Survivors are his wife; a son, Donald, of Baraboo; a daughter, Mrs. Orville (Marian) Frecke of Colby; four grandchildren; two brothers, Edwin, of Lomira and Alvin, at the Grand Army Home in King; and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Dohrman of Horicon and Mrs. Martha Davis of Colby.

Funeral services were held May 27 from the Zion United Church in Greenwood. The Rev. David Logue officiated. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery. The Wallis-Hinker American Legion Post was in charge of military graveside rites. A Masonic Memorial service was held Wednesday evening at the Hill Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Harland Bergemann, John Zagozen, Elmer Learman, Robert Schneider, Leon Kuester and Alf red Zillmer. Gary Schultz sang, “Nearer My God To Thee” and “Beyond the Sunset” accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Allen Dallman.
