Meier, Marine Pvt. Dennis A. (Military Notes - 1971)

Marine Pvt. Dennis A. Meier son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Meier of Crystal Lake, Ill., is presently home on his first leave following the completion of his recruit training. The Meiers are former Neillsville area residents.

Pvt. Meier enlisted in the Marine Corps in February in Woodstock, Ill., and was assigned to the Recruit depot in San Diego, Calif., for his training. While at the depot, Meier qualified as a rifle marksman. He has been assigned to Motor Mechanics Maintenance School, Montfort Point N. C.

Following his leave, Pvt. Meier will report to Camp Pendleton, Calif., for four weeks’ advance training, followed by two months at Montfort Point. Prior to his enlistment he attended Crystal Lake Community High School.
