Funeral services for Fred A. Parkhill, 80, who died in Springfield, Oregon, on Feb. 24, were held there Tuesday. Burial was made at Salem, Oregon.
Mr. Parkhill was born in Clockville, N.Y., Feb. 26, 1865. When he was seven years old the family moved to a farm in the Town of Hull, two miles south of Abbotsford, Wis.
On Nov. 11, 1891, he was married to Blanche Denny, at Denny, a station formerly located where the Morris Gierl farm now lies.
Mr. Parkhill, who was employed as head sawyer in the saw mill, made his home in Abbotsford, having built two houses here, now occupied by the Peter Dolan and John Mueller families.
In 1908 the family moved west and lived for a time on Washington, later settling in Salem, Oregon. For about the past six or seven years, Mr. and Mrs. Parkhill made their home in Springfield, Oregon, with their daughter, Mrs. Walter Bennett.
Surviving him are Mrs. Parkhill, a son, Day, of Kelso, Wash.; Mrs. Nilla Grimes and Mrs. Pearl Jones, of Salem. Oregon, and Mrs. Bennett at Springfield. A brother, George B. Parkhill, of Madison, also survives.
