Folsom, Eva (20 June 1852 - 29 May 1945)

Funeral services for Mrs. Eva Folsom, 92 years old, who died Tuesday, May 29, will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Presbyterian church with the Rev. G. E. Griffiths officiating. The body will lie in state at the Zink Funeral Home until the time to take the remains to the church. Internment will be made in the family lot at Dorchester, Wis.

The following grand sons will act as pallbearers: Warren and Sumner Lewis Haack, Lee and Carol Holliday, Allen Hawks, and Alfred Peissig.

The grand daughters will have charge of the flowers.

Mrs. Folsom, who was Abbotsford’s oldest resident, was born Eva Hazen, in the state of Vermont, June 20, 1852. On Sept. 7, 1875, she was united in marriage at Parishville, N.Y. to Alba W. Folsom, and a year later they homesteaded a farm in Taylor county. Mr. Folsom died in 1885, leaving a family of five children, the baby only two and one-half months old. Mrs. Folsom and the children remained to prove up on the homestead and lived there until the children were grown.

For the past 40 years she made her home with the Ferdinand Haack family. Since last December she has been confined to her bed and died, Tuesday night, at 10 p.m. of complications of age.

Surviving her are the five children, Howard Folsom, Visalia, Cal.; Mrs. Winnifred Holliday, Medford; Mrs. Myra Hawks, and Mrs. Ferdinand (Grace) Haack, Abbotsford; and Mrs. C. J. (Florence) Hayden, Romeo, N.Y. There are 17 grand children and 36 great grand children.
