Staff Sgt. Arvin L. Merwin received his honorable discharge from the service, Dec. 1, at Sioux City, Iowa. He entered the service Aug. 8, 1941 and was a mechanic in the Army Air Force. Outside of the basic training period he spent the entire time of service at Las Vegas, Nevada, where he served as crew chief in A-T26, A-T11 and B-25. For the past two and a half years he was flight chief and instructor. He is entitled to wear the American Defense Service ribbon, the American Theatre Service ribbon, the Good Conduct medal, one service stripe and World War II Victory medal.
