Nirva, Leona (2 Feb. 1910 - 20 June 1991)
GREENWOOD - Leona (Lindner) Nirva, 81, Withee, died Thursday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.
Memorial services are tentatively scheduled for 1:30 p.m. June 29 at Immanuel United Church of Christ, Greenwood.
Cremation Society of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, is handling arrangements.
She was born Feb. 2, 1910, in Colby, to the late Charles and Theresa (Pletske) Lindner. She moved with her parents to a farm west of Colby at age 7. She attended Colby schools.
She was married to William Nirva May 7, 1927, in Waukegan, Ill. He died Feb. 14, 1983.
She and her husband farmed south of Owen until 1946. They then sold the farm and moved to Los Angeles, Calif. She worked as a distributor and then as a checker at the ModernCraft Laundry. She and her husband moved back to Wisconsin in the fall of 1947 and bought a farm south of Withee. They sold the farm in 1969 and retired in Withee. After retirement, they spent part of two winters in Arizona and then 12 winters in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas.
She was an active member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son, Chester of Withee; one sister, Rose *** Note: The remainder of this article was missing.
