Dougan, Florence C. (11 Apr. 1917 - 1 Apr. 2009)

NEILLSVILLE -- Florence C. Dougan, 91, of Neillsville, formerly of Milwaukee, died Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at the Memorial Health and Rehabilitation Center in Neillsville.

Florence Clara Dougan was born April 11, 1917, in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of Andrew J. and Laura Marie (Guels) Gallaher. She was united in marriage to Michael J. Dougan Jr. in 1946 at the Margaret of Scotland Parish in St. Louis. They moved to Chicago, where they lived for two years, then moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She and her husband purchased Otto's Bakery in 1959 and later changed the name to Dougan's Bakery.

She is survived by seven children, Michael (Pam) Dougan III of Fort Worth, Texas, Laura (Bob) Hampton of South Bristol, N.Y., Patricia (Peter) Gingrass of Charlotte, N.C., Mary (Steve) Decker of Ross, Ohio, Robert (Sarah) Dougan of Dayton, Ohio, James Dougan of Cortez, Colo., and Kathleen (Thomas) Watson of Neillsville; 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by a brother, Walter Gallaher.

Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Michael.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Robert's Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The Gesche Funeral Home of Neillsville is assisting Florence's family with arrangements.
