Beilfuss, Louise E. #2 (7 OCT 1884 - 24 MAY 1950)
The entire village of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) and community are mourning the sudden and untimely death of one of its pioneer residents, Mrs. Carl H. Beilfuss, nee Louise E. Roth, who passed away at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, May 24th, 1950. She had been in apparently good health up until a week previous to her death, at which time she was stricken by a stroke.
Funeral services were held from Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Withee, Monday, May 29th, with Father Raymond Bornbach officiating. Burial was made in the Riverside Cemetery. Pallbearers were William Murphy, Chippewa Falls; John Burke, Boyd, and James Boyland, Harry Thorson, S. M. Munson and Fred Scherf, all of Withee.
Louise E. Beilfuss was born on Oct. 7, 1884, at Thorp, Wis., to the late Mr. and Mrs. John Roth. She received her education in the Thorp graded and high school, later attending Central State Teachers College at Stevens Point. For six years she taught the 7th and 8th grades in the Thorp schools. On Nov. 10, 1909 she was united in marriage to Carl H. Beilfuss, residing at Thorp for some time, then moving to Withee many years ago. One child, a son, Bert, was born to this union.
She was a wonderful mother, deeply devoted to her family. She was a person who took a great interest in her many friends and their activities always displaying great courage and confidence in all of her church and civic efforts.
For years she had been an active member of the Royal Neighbors of America, Christian Mother’s Society and at the time of her death, serving as president of the Withee Library Board, of which she was an honorary member.
Other surviving her other than her family are a sister, Mrs. Pearl Nealis, Chicago and a brother, J. A. Roth of International Falls, Minn. One sister, Mrs. Louis Walsdorf, Thorp, preceded her in death.
