Awe, Virginia #2 (10 JUN 1950)
A lovely wedding ceremony was enjoyed by immediate relatives and friends of Miss Virginia Awe and Victor Perman when the two exchanged the sacred vows of wedlock at the parish house of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen, at 12:30 o’clock, Saturday, June 10th, 1950. The couple were united in marriage by Rev. Raymond Bornbach, pastor of the parish.
For the occasion the bride chose a beautiful gown of white slipper satin with lace insert trim, Peter Pan collar and long sleeves that came to a point at the wrists. Its fingertip veil of illusion fell from a crown into a long train. For a bridal bouquet she carried an unusual fan of Esther Reed with gardenias, lilies of the valley, which were centered by a large purple orchid.
Attending as matron of honor was Mrs. Lawrence Christophersen of Eau Claire, a close friend of the bride, and bridesmaids, Donna Berger of Appleton, a cousin and Margaret Perman, Greenwood, a sister of the groom. They wore gowns similarly designed of marquisette over taffeta with ruffled headdress of aqua, peach and orchid. Their bouquets were of Esther Reeds, pink carnations and lilies of the valley fashioned in a fan shape with streamers.
After the ceremony a dinner and reception were held at the Owen Community Hall which was beautifully decorated for the occasion.
The bride was honored at two showers which were given for her by friends earlier in the week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. Ammentorp, Withee, and at the Perman home in Greenwood.
The young couple are now enjoying a honeymoon trip to Niagara Falls, New York. Both of them are well known and highly respected in this community
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Awe, Withee, and has been employed for the past couple of years in the office of the Owen plant of the Western Condensing Co.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr.a nd Mrs. Don Perman, Greenwood, a graduate of the Greenwood school system and is now taking a veterinary course at the University of Minn. In Minneapolis. Upon their return from their trip they will establish a home in Minneapolis.
