Lott, Verla F. #3 (9 JUN 1950)

The Evangelical Lutheran Church, Curtiss, was the scene of a lovely wedding ceremony, Friday afternoon at four o’clock, June 9th, 1950, when Verla Faye Lott was united in marriage to Neil McCarron. The couple repeated the nuptial vows after the Rev. O. K. Odland.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Milo Lott, Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), while the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and of Mr. and Mrs. Pat McCarron, Dorchester (Clark Co.)

For the occasion the bride chose a white satin gown with full skirt extending into a long train, a bodice trimmed with lace and beads, long lace-trimmed sleeves, and a fingertip veil caught to a beaded tiara. She carried a bouquet of white calla lilies surrounded with roses.

Her twin sister, Mrs. Robert Mattson of this city, was matron of honor. She wore a white organdy gown over taffeta, with a nylon net bonnet and mitts to match. Her bouquet consisted of pink and white carnations and purple iris.

The bridesmaids, Mrs. Max Zellers, Chicago, cousin of the groom, and Judith Wollum, Owen, wore dresses of pink and aqua respectively. Their dresses were styled identical to the matron of honor, and they carried similar bouquets.

Robert Mattson, Owen, brother-in-law of the bride, was best man. Other attendants of the groom were Max Zellers, Chicago, cousin, and James Herman, Dorchester, Wis.

Pakley Steinke, cousin of the bride, and Donald German ushered for the ceremony.

The bride’s mother wore a royal blue dress with white accessories and a corsage of red roses and blue carnations. The groom’s mother wore a tan dress with brown accessories and a corsage of pink roses and yellow carnations.

Following the ceremony a reception was held in the Evangelical parish hall.

Both the young people are prominent in this community. The bride is a graduate of the Owen High School and for the past couple of years has been employed in Abbotsford, Wis. He is a graduate of the Dorchester school system and also of the Burnham Beauty Culture School. The couple will make their residence in Dorchester and will operate a root beer stand in Abbotsford, Wis.
