Wunsch, Rose Theresa (18 Apr. 1888 - 6 Jan. 1946)
A requiem high mass will be sung for Mrs. Rose Wunsch, 57, who died Sunday night, enroute to her home here, on Friday morning at 9:30 in St. Bernard’s Catholic church with the Rev. Francis Brockman officiating. Burial will be made in the Medford cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Zink Funeral Home where a rosary service will be held at 8:00 o’clock Thursday evening, by the Catholic Ladies’ Altar Society, of which organization the deceased was a member.
Mrs. Wunsch and her daughter, Rozella, were returning Sunday night from Milwaukee where they had spent the holidays with relatives when Mrs. Wunsch suddenly became ill and died of embolism on the bus near Fond du Lac, at about 11:00 o‘clock. Mrs. Wunsch had enjoyed good health all her life.
Rose Theresa Schneider was born April 18, 1888, at St. Michael, Wis. She was married to Valentine Wunsch on Nov. 16, 1909, at Rozellville.
After Mr. Wunsch died in 1937, Mrs. Wunsch continued to make her home on their farm near Tomahawk. When her oldest son, Frank, was inducted into the service three years ago, she moved to Abbotsford, Wis.
She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Alvin (Viola) Drouth, Milwaukee; Pfc. Frank Wunsch, in Germany; Ervin Wunsch, Abbotsford; Arnold, Miss Irene, Mrs. Kenneth (Marcella) Wiese, Miss Sylvia, all of Milwaukee; and Rozella, at home. There are three grand children: Shirley and Joyce Wunsch, Abbotsford and Betty Drouth, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Preceding her in death were her husband and four children, Leonard, Clarence, Florence and Margaret, and two brothers and two sisters.
Three brothers and two sisters survive. They are Walter Schneider, Colby; John Schneider, Ashland; Matt Schneider, Mrs. Phillip Freiders and Mrs. Felix Merkel, of Marshfield.

Those from out of town at the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Drout and daughter, Betty, Mrs. Frank Wunsch, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wiese, Arnold, Irene and Sylvia Wunsch, and Miss La Verne Brandt, all of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. John Schneider, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Berweger, Mrs. John Petrack, and Joseph Schneider, Ashland; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Schneider and son and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Andrews, Colby; Mrs. Charles Reif, Jr., Medford; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Schermetzler and Mr. and Mrs. Roman Wunsch, Athens; Charles Daul, Dancy; and Mr. and Mrs. Matt Schneider and family, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Merkel, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wunsch, and Catherine and Anna Andrews, Marshfield.
