Durgo, Therezia (15 Oct. 1880 - 10 Jan. 1946)

A requiem high mass for Mrs. Joe Durgo, 65, who died last Thursday, was sung in St. Bernard’s Catholic church, Monday morning, at 9:00 o’clock, by the Rev. Francis Brockman. Internment was made in the Abbotsford cemetery beside the body of her husband.

Pallbearers were C. T. Dolan, Ben Merwin, Lee and Dane Jensen.

Mrs. Joe (Therezia) Durgo was born in Esstergal, Hungary, Oct. 15, 1880. She married Joe Durgo in the late years of the last century. They came to Winnipeg, Canada, and later moved to St. Paul, where they were both employed in a factory. About 35 years ago they came to this vicinity and cleared a farm out the woods, northwest of Abbotsford, Wis. Mr. Durgo died there in the winter of 1937.

Mrs. Durgo suffered a stroke last summer. She had left here in the fall for Indiana and last Thursday died in a hospital in East Chicago, from pneumonia and heart trouble, after an illness of three days.

Mrs. Durgo had three sisters, Rose, Catherine and Magda, all of whom were married and remained in Hungary.
