Tauchen, William (1889? - 20 Jan. 1946)
Funeral services for William Tauchen, 54, who died unexpectedly at his home in the town of Mayville, Sunday, were held Wednesday afternoon at the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church at Dorchester, with the Rev. G. E. Pauloweit officiating. The American Legion, of which he was a member and past commander, attended and participated in the services. Burial was made in Dorchester, Wis.
Mr. Tauchen was very active in the Dorchester community affairs. He had just resigned as treasurer of the Commercial club at its last meeting. He served as secretary-treasurer of the church for 17 years, was chairman of the AAA since it was organized and was active in the American Legion. He was a veteran of World War I and had lived in this vicinity since 1919.
Surviving him are his widow and four children, Mrs. Kenneth Peissig, Winfield, Ill.; Alice, Rudolph and Marvin. There are three grand children and three brothers, Fred, Vincent, of Dorchester and Ernest, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
