CEDAR VALLEY, Minn. — Philip J. Hoeser, 64, of Cedar Valley died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse, Wis.

Philip John was born May 20, 1944, in Neillsville, Wis., to Frank and Rozina (Zigalinski) Hoeser. He graduated from Neillsville High School. In 1965, he married Penny Wall in Owen, Wis. He was a route salesman for Wonder Bread, La Crosse, for 39 years. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Dakota, Minn. He enjoyed birding, hiking and his flower garden. He volunteered at the National Wildlife Refuge, Trempealeau, Wis., and over the past 14 years, he has spent some great getaways with Penny at the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park, Ontonagon, Mich.

Philip is survived by his wife, Penny; a brother, Don Hoeser of Marshfield, Wis.; three sisters, Geraldine Schultz of Neillsville, Janette (Buck) Spencer of Marshfield, and Julia (Chuck) Krostag of Indiana; and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Norbert Hoeser.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Winona, with Father Gregory Havel, officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, at Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home, Winona, and at the church on Tuesday beginning at 12:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials.

Services entrusted to Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Winona.

Philip John Hoeser, 64, of Winona died Thursday, Oct. 30, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, Wis. Visitation will be at Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home in Winona, on Nov. 3, from 4 to 8 p.m. with funeral services at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church on Nov. 4 at 1:30 p.m.

Many knew Phil as the local Wonder Bread (and former Taystee Bread) route salesperson. He retired earlier this year, due to ill health, after more than 39 years of dedicated service. He was an avid bird watcher and enjoyed tending his numerous gardens and watching NFL football.

He is survived by his wife, Penny; one son, Tony (Angie) Hoeser and their daughter, McKenzie of Winona; one daughter, Nichole (Nicholas) Manning of Chicago; three sisters, Gerrie Schultz of Neillsville, Wis., Jeanette (Buck) Spencer of Marshfield, Wis., and Julie (Chuck) Krostag of Hobart, Ind.; one brother, Donald Hoeser of Marshfield, Wis.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Frank and Rozina (Ziglinski) Hoeser of Neillsville, Wis.; and one brother, Norbert (Germaine) Hoeser, also of Neillsville.

My Dad was born May 20, 1944 and died October 30, 2008. His spouse was Penny Wall, born November 8, 1944 (still living). Phil was the son of Frank and Rozina Hoeser.
