Driscoll, Dorothy (14 OCT 1950)

Miss Dorothy Driscoll, daughter of Mrs. Mike Driscoll, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), and Steve A. Tomich, Bellewood, Ill., were united in marriage on Saturday morning at 9:15 in the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen. The Rev. Raymond Bornbach officiated. The groom is the son of Mrs. Theresa Tomich, Hermansville, Mich.

Miss Isabel Driscoll, as her sisters’ maid of honor, wore a rose satin gown with rose net headdress and artificial roses in her hair. She carried a bouquet of pink roses and baby mums. Mrs. Harold Driscoll, Chicago, Ill., sister-in-law of the bride, as bridesmaid, wore a green satin gown with matching net headdress and roses in her hair. Her bouquet consisted of yellow roses and baby mums.

Attending the groom were his brother, Walter of Menomonie, Mich., Harold Driscoll, Chicago, Ill., the bride’s brother. Cornelius Driscoll, brother of the bride, and John Sample, Owen, the bride’s brother-in-law, ushered.

The bridal gown was fashioned of heavy white satin with sweetheart neckline bordered with beaded embroidery, long sleeves, and full skirt, which had appliquéd flowers scattered on it. Her fingertip veil was caught to a tiara of orange blossoms, and she carried a cascade bouquet of white roses and baby mums with mums fastened to a long satin streamer.

Breakfast was served the bridal party at the home of the bride’s sister, Mrs. John Sample, Owen, and dinner was served to relatives at the home of the bride’s mother. In the evening, a dance was held at Walter’s Pavilion, Colby, Wis.

The groom is employed by the Press Steel Corp., Bellewood, Ill. Following a honeymoon in Wis. Dells, they will reside in Melrose Park, Ill.

Out of town guests present included Mrs. Nora Chase, San Francisco, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Vance, McHenry, Ill.; Dr. and Mrs. Gerhard Uhrich, La Crosse; Mrs. Theresa Tomich, Hermansville, Mich., Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton La Greve and family, Nathan, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Walters, Hewitt, Frank Tomich, Jackson; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Apfelbeck and family, Colby; Mrs. Margaret Plummer and family, Stanley; Mr. and Mrs. Francis Povin and son, Chippewa Falls; Mr. and Mrs. John Sample and family and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Conzemius and family, Owen.

I was born and raised across the road from the Tomich family. I spent many many hours with the family and have many fond memories of the good old days. I left Hermansville in 1953 and now live in Texas.
