Spaulding, Gerald B. (1903? - 25 OCT 1950)
Gerald B. "Jack" Spaulding, 47, a resident of this community (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.) for many years and one of the oldest and best known pilots in Wisconsin aviation circles, died of a heart attack suddenly yesterday forenoon at Boscobel, Wis.
"Jack" had flown to Boscobel Tuesday to be present at a banquet meeting that night. He collapsed and died Wednesday morning as he was about to leave on his return air trip to Madison.
More than 20 years ago he owned and operated the Owen Theatre, leaving that business to go into flying, a vocation he has pursued ever since. At the time of his death he was assistant manager of the Morey Airplane Company of Middleton.
Surviving him are his widow, nee Edna Vachon, formerly of Owen, and one son Wallace.
Funeral services will be conducted at two o’clock tomorrow afternoon at Madison.
