Byrnes, Darlene (7 NOV 1950)

Now residing in Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) are Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Lechnir who repeated the holy vows of matrimony in a lovely church ceremony performed on Nov. 7, 1950 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Platteville, Wis., with Father John De Rocher officiating at the nuptial rites.

The bride wore a pincess style bridal gown of slipper satin having a sweetheart neckline with a lace edged train and carried a lovely bridal bouquet. Attending here were Mary Jo Lechnir, sister of the groom and Joyce Howell, a cousin of the bride. Miss Lechnir wore a gown of rose colored taffeta while that of Miss Howell was identically designed in blue taffeta. Each carried a bouquet of white pompoms.

Attending the bridegroom as best man was his brother John.

Immediately following the ceremony a breakfast was served the bridal group at the Skyline Café. Later a dinner was served 50 guests which was followed by a reception which 200 persons attended at the home of Mrs. Mary Bon Durant.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Byrnes, Platteville, Wis., and she is a graduate of that school system.

Mr. Lechnir is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph B. Lechnir, Prairie du Chien, Wis., and a graduate of the Platteville State Teachers College. He has been employed here as instructor on the "On the Farm Training Program" ever since July of this year.
