Borchardt, Lester H. (24 FEB 1929 - 13 NOV 2013)

84, Stratford, died on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2013, at Zion Lutheran Church, Stratford with Pastor Sue Eidahl officiating. Burial will take place in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Stratford and his six grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at Zion Lutheran Church. Sauter / Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Lester H. Borchardt, 84, Stratford, died on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.

Lester was born on February 24, 1929 in the Town of Wien, Marathon County, to Lawrence and Anna (Laack) Borchardt. He married Doris M. Kroening on June 28, 1952 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Fenwood. She died on May 4, 1998.

The Borchardt’s farmed in the Town of Wien until retiring in 1998. While farming, Les also was employed at the Fenwood Feed Mill, drove milk truck for Huebner’s Dairy and worked at Equity Livestock.

He enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends at Donald Sykes Villa, and occasional trips to the casino.

He is survived by 4 children and 7 grandchildren, Kenneth Borchardt and his son, Ethan Borchardt; Keith (Diane) Borchardt and their children Matthew (Tammy) Borchardt and Katie (Derrick) Schillinger; Karen Manard and her children, Heather Borchardt and Ryan Borchardt; and Kay (Brian) Hergert and their children, Brandon Kremer, Jaren Hergert and Gage Hergert.

He is also survived by 3 great grandchildren, Kiara Borchardt, Mason Borchardt and Adalynn Borchardt. He is further survived by a brother, Edwin (Darlene) Borchardt.

He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, 2 sisters, Esther Stroetz and Erna Paulson and a great grandson, Gabriel Borchardt.
