Ericksen, Erna Ida Hazel (Redmann) (11 DEC 1923 - 15 NOV 2013)
Erna Ida Hazel Ericksen, 89, passed away Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at Frederic
Nursing & Rehabilitation in Frederic.
She was born December 11, 1923, at
Edgar, the daughter of Theodore and Ida (Viegut) Redmann.
On June 25,
1946, she married Nels W. Ericksen in St. Paul, Minn. In the early 1950’s the
couple bought a dairy farm near Frederic where Erna lived until her recent move
to the nursing home.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading her Bible,
crocheting, sewing, spending time in her vegetable and flower gardens, and with
family and friends.
Surviving are six children, Larry (Georgene) Ericksen
of Mellen, Judy (Jimmy) Gervasi of Lodi, CA, Earl (Pat) Ericksen of Frederic,
Roy Ericksen of Frederic, James (Janet) Ericksen of Luck, and Paul Ericksen of
Spencer, OK; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; seven sisters,
Edna, Dorothy, Alice, Maryann, Doris, Rose and Theodora; three brothers,
Raymond, Daniel and Ralph; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in
death were her husband, Nels; and two brothers, Lester and Ned.
Funeral
services will be held at Siren Assembly of God Church, Siren, on Wednesday, Nov.
20, 2013, with Rev. Andy Bolant presiding. Visitation will begin at the church
at 9:30 a.m. followed by the service at 11 a.m. Vocalist will be Georgene
Ericksen and Jeremiah Stavne as musician.
Erna will be laid to rest next
to her husband, Nels at Bone Lake Cemetery, east of Luck, at 1 p.m.
