Janke, Otto (1895? - 27 MAY 1951)

Otto Janke, age 56, of Platteville, passed away at a Dubuque Hospital on May 27, 1951, after an illness of three weeks. He was born in the Town of Green Grove (Clark Co., Wis.) where he grew to manhood. He was a cheesemaker and operated a factory in North Hoard (Clark Co.) from the time of his marriage in 1917 until 1921, when they moved to Platteville, where he managed the Banner Cheese Factory for 18 years. He then moved into the city and was employed by the Kraft Cheese Co. He is survived by his wife and one son, Leslie of Morrison, Ill. and one brother, Herbert of Pardeeville. Funeral services were held at the First English Lutheran Church at Platteville on Wednesday p.m., May 30. His parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Otto Janke, were pioneer residents of Green Grove.
