Thess, Louisa (16 JUN 1951)
The First Presbyterian Church of Oak Park, Ill. was the scene of a very pretty wedding when Miss Louisa Thess, Owen, became the bride of Clifford Miller, son of Mrs. Buck, Galena, Ill., on June 16, 1951, at one o’clock in the afternoon. Dr. Stein of Oak Park officiated.
Sarah Crawford of Oak Park, a friend of the bride, was her maid of honor. Mrs. Don Hunt of Oak Park was her sister’s bridesmaid. Both wore aqua ninon over rayon with matching picture hats and gauntlets. Their bouquets were of white carnations.
Joe Jawarski, Lyons, friend of the groom, was best man. The groomsman was Don Hunt, Oak Park, brother-in-law of the bride. The groom and his attendants wore tuxedos.
The bridal gown was of white slipper satin. Her fingertip veil was attached to a net crown decorated with seed pearls and rhinestones. The bride carried a cascade bouquet of carnations and an orchid. The bride’s mother wore navy blue while the groom’s mother wore a bown print dress. Each had an orchid corsage.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at the American Legion Hall. The Millers will be at home to their friends at 1101 South Blvd, Oak Park, Ill.; after their wedding trip to northern Wisconsin.
Out of town guests at the wedding were Mrs. Buck, Galena, Ill.; Margaret Bierly and daughter Faud, Hammond, Ind.; Mrs. Henry Thess, Mrs. Hilmer Gustafson, Owen; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Brandt, Withee, Wis.; Mrs. Lester Wordell and daughter Joyce, Elkhart Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Illig, Elkhart Lake and Mrs. Dan Danielson and daughters, Dixon, Ill.
