Pyatt, Charles S. (20 MAY 1880 - 1 JUL 1951)
Charles S. Pyatt, 70, succumbed to a heart attack which he suffered at his home Saturday night and then passed away a few hours later Sunday morning. He apparently was in good health and had just returned home from a vacation trip with his family previous to the attack.
Funeral services were conducted at two o’clock Tuesday afternoon from Griebenow’s Funeral Parlors with Dr. K. O. Crosby of St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church officiating. Burial was made at Riverside Cemetery.
Acting as pallbearers were his grandsons, Floyd, Donald and Wilbur Thorne, and Lee Reinke, Elmer Baum and a nephew, Glen Stowe.

In charge of flowers were Donna Reinke, Joyce, Harriet, Margery, Jeanette Thorne, Beverly Baum and Darlene and Kaye Pyatt. Those driving the flower cars were Mesdames Norbert Bruchert, R. W. Weaver and Thorvald Rasmussen.
The deceased was born on May 20, 1880 at Maxon, Ill., on a farm. He absorbed this occupation until 1900 when he moved with his family to Wisconsin where they settled on a farm in the Town of Beaver (Clark Co., Wis.). Two years later he was united in marriage to Eltha R. Stowe, on Oct. 8, 1902, in a ceremony performed in the Town of Beaver.
For 19 years he and his family continued farming, until 1922, at which time they moved to Owen where he obtained employment with the John S. Owen Lumber Co., working in the mill til 1930. He then became affiliated with the Master Package Corp., being an employee of that firm for 20 years until one year ago when he retired.
Chas. S. Pyatt wasn’t a man to be too active in civic circles but her had direct contact with everything that was going on and supported every worthwhile project. He was a strong believer of the building a firm home and lived in the best domestic surroundings.
Surviving him are his wife, one son, Clarence, and two daughters, Mrs. Charles Thorne and Mrs. Harry Dempsey, Owen, one brother, George, of Belmont, calif., and a sister, Mrs. Nellie Foresen, Powell, Wyo.
