Weik, Robert (1938? - 30 JUL 1951)
Friends in this community were shocked and grieved late Monday night when they learned from Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Weik, former residents of this city (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.), and now of Park Falls, that their oldest son, Robert, was instantly killed when a horse which he was riding was struck by a car.
Robert, age 13, and two other companions were horseback riding along Highway 13 in the city of Park Falls when his horse suddenly reared up, jumping on top of a passing automobile. The youth was thrown from the animal through the windshield of the car. Death was instant as he suffered a broken neck and many other fractures to his youthful body.
Funeral services are to be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Park Falls.
Robert and his parents have numerous friends in this community who are saddened by this tragic loss to the family, as the Weik family lived in this city for seven years prior to their moving from Owen to Park Falls a year ago this fall.
