Heart, William Wallace (29 May 1920 - 9 Nov. 1942)
Mrs. John Fecker has received a final report on the death of her son, Pvt. William Heart of the chemical warfare service. Few details were ever given but a portion of the letter from the Headquarters U.S. Army, Western Pacific states, "Died Nov. 9, 1942 from malaria at Cabanatuan, Philippine Islands, while a prisoner of the Japanese."
"The casualty reports received contain few details. They were of necessity meager due to the inability of the persons confined by the Japanese to prepare or keep the necessary records."
