Woik, Olga #2 (18 AUG 1951)

Miss Olga Woik, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Woik, and Raymond Liepke, son of Guts Liepke of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), were united in holy matrimony Saturday, Aug. 18, 1951, at one o’clock p.m. in St. John’s Lutheran Church, Withee. Rev. Walter Schedler performed the double ring ceremony and Miss Lucille Gehl of Chippewa Galls sang "I Love You Truly" and "O Perfect Love," accompanied by Mr. Frank McMiller, Withee, on the organ.

The bride approached the alter attired in a marquisette over satin gown featuring Chantilly lace bodice, accented with a jeweled sweetheart neckline and jewels continuing down the center front to the waist and long, lace sleeves ending in points over the wrists. The full skirt featured two panels of Chantilly lace that extended into a long train. Her Chantilly lace edged fingertip veil was attached to a jeweled crown of rhinestones and she wore a rhinestone necklace, a gift of the groom. She carried a bridal bouquet of pink and white roses tied with white satin ribbon and lacelon.

Serving her sister as matron of honor, was Mrs. Arlyn Ebeling, Wausau, dressed in a peach formal with a lace bodice and Peter Pan collar and featuring a full taffeta skirt. A sash tied in a large bow in back marked the waistline. Mrs. John Bacon, and Mrs. Ralph Woik, Owen, as bridesmaids, wore aqua blue dresses identical to that of the matron of honor. They all wore matching lace picture hats, lace gauntlets and carried bouquets of Rubicon lilies tied satin ribbon and lace.

Arlyn Ebeling, Wausau, acted as best man, while Kenneth Liepke, McCook, Neb., brother of the groom, and Ralph Woik, brother of the bride, were groomsmen. The groom and all his attendants wore suits with black trousers and white jackets. Clark Nissen and Eldon Catura of Owen served as ushers for the occasion.

The bride’s mother witnessed the wedding in an aqua sheer crepe dress while the groom’s mother wore a pink nylon dress. Each wore corsages of white and pink roses and lilies of the valley.

A reception was held at the home of the groom’s parents where approximately 125 guests attended. The table was centered with a large four tier wedding cake. A dance was held later that evening at Walters Pavilion, Colby, Wis..

Out of town guests came from Chicago, Hartford, Stevens Point, Wausau, Medford, Chippewa Falls, Dorchester and Abbotsford, Wis.

The bride is a graduate of the Owen High School and is employed at the Owen Enterprise. After a honeymoon in the southern part of the state the couple will make their home a farm one-fourth mile north of Owen.
