Ure, Lloyd R. (12 SEP 1930 - 14 NOV 2013)

Lloyd R. Ure, age 83, of Granton, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Ministry St Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, with family by his side. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Zion Lutheran Church (W2880 Granton Road) in Granton. Rev Dan Schoessow will officiate. A visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home (1010 E Veterans Parkway) in Marshfield and again from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church on Wednesday. Lloyd's grandchildren will be serving as pallbearers.

Lloyd was born September 12, 1930 to Robert and Lula (Sternitzky) Ure in the town of Lynn, Wisconsin. Lloyd attended Sunbeam School in the town of Lynn and went on to serve his country proudly for four years in the US Navy. On May 31, 1958 Lloyd was united in marriage to Beverly Ziemendorf in Pittsville, Wisconsin. Lloyd worked as a dairy farmer on his family farm that had been in the family for over 100 years. The couple sold the farm but kept a portion to live on.

Mr. Ure was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Granton, as well as a member of the American Pheasant and Waterfowl Society (APWS). He wrote for the APWS for over 35 years. Lloyd enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, making maple syrup, and gardening. He especially enjoyed time spent with his family, grandchildren, and great grandson. Those that knew him best will miss his sense of humor, as well as his love of coaching little league and junior league baseball in Granton.

Lloyd is lovingly survived by his wife: Beverly Ure of Granton; children: Cindy Ure of Granton, Barbara (Gordon) Anding of Granton, and Sue (Steve) Heiting of Marshfield. He is further survived by his grandchildren: Aimee Clott, Nicholas (Karen) Anding, Joel ( special friend-Stacy Charneski) Carolfi, and Tasha (Steve) Mrotek; a great-grandchild: Jasper Mrotek; as well as siblings: Rita (Duane) Rollins of Chili and Ronald "Pete" Ure of Rockford, IL. He will truly be missed.

Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents: Robert and Lula; sisters: Muriel Ure and Lila (Urban) Schmidt; as well as a sister-in-law: Victoria Ure.

Lloyds family would like to thank Pastor and Courtney Schoessow, the staff at Three Oaks, and those that assisted the family at Ministry St Josephs Hospital for all the care and compassion shown to Lloyd and all of us.
