Sillampa, 88, of Owen, WI passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 13th at
Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
He was born January 21,
1925 in Owen to Herman August and Hilma Maria Sillampa. He graduated from Owen
High School in 1943 and was a pilot in the US Army Air Corp, during World War
II. After his military service he took over the family farm in rural Owen. On
July 1st, 1950 he married his lifelong sweetheart, Beverly Poppe. They
celebrated 63 wonderful years together as husband and wife. Carl also served his
community and country in various ways over the course of his lifetime and was a
faithful servant leader in his church.
Carl is survived by his wife,
Beverly (Poppe) Sillampa; eight children; Carlene (Dwayne) Moore, Peggy (Allan)
Cihlar, Elaine (Dennis) Hebert, Betsy (Brent) Shoup, Kristi (David) Cole, Chuck
(India) Sillampa, Diane (Lonnie) Kroeplin, Dorothy (Scott) Ralitz; and his
sister, Elsa Denning of Chicago, IL. He was also blessed with a further legacy
of 20 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. He touched the lives of many
other numerous relatives, friends and especially his nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 16th at 9:30 am at Saint
Katherine's Church Great Hall with the funeral service to be held immediately
following at 11:00 am in the Sanctuary of Saint Katherine's Church. A luncheon
will follow the service in the dining hall of the church.
