Meier, Hattie (22 August 1890 - 9 June 1971)
Mrs.
Hattie Meier of Neillsville, a resident of Memorial Home for the last several
years, died here, early this morning. Arrangements for services are as yet
incomplete. The body of Mrs. Meier is at the Georgas Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hattie (Hedwig) Meier, 80, of Memorial Home, who died
June 9, were held Friday, June 11, at 1:30 p.m. from St. John’s Evangelical
Lutheran Church in Neillsville. The Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiated and
burial was made in the Levis Cemetery. The Georgas Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements.
Mrs. Meier, the daughter of August and Wilhelmina
Pflughoeft Ketelhud (Ketelhut), was born August 22, 1890, in Washington County.
She was educated in Marshfield schools. Following her June 22, 1909 marriage in
Neillsville to Herman Meier the couple farmed in the Town of Levis. After her
husband’s death in 1958 she lived alone for a time and later with the Alvin
Schutte’s. Mrs. Meier was a resident of memorial home for the last several
years. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and of its
Ladies Aid Society.
Survivors include a son, Robert Meier of Britt, Ia.;
a sister, Mrs. Frank (Hilda) Luck of Neillsville; a grandchild and four
great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: Herbert Schoenherr, Alvin and
Henry Schutte, William Diercks, Clarence Meier, and William Genteman. Mrs.
Harold Mayer sang “Rock of Ages” and “Asleep in Jesus.” She was accompanied by
Victor Lehmann.

Cindy and Cathy Meier, Clear lake, Ia.; Mrs. Ann Peck and Mrs. Margorie Maas,
Marshfield; Mrs. Roy Sitzman and daughters and Mrs. and Mrs. David St. John and
family, Wisconsin Rapids; Mrs. Curtis Schoenherr, Columbus; Mr. and Mrs. R.
Luchterhand, Spencer; Mrs. Gordon Youwbloom, Merrifield; and Mr. and Mrs. Daryl
Schutte and family and Mrs. Rolland Stenulson, Beloit.
