Micke, Bernard (6 SEP 1870 - 26 NOV 1951)

Bernard Micke, 81, pioneer town of Worden (Clark Co., Wis.) farmer, died Monday afternoon at Victory Memorial Hospital at Stanley, following a lingering illness.

He was born in Hollandtown, Sept. 6, 1870. He was married to Barbara Bohman of Brillion in 1896. In 1898 they came to Worden, where they were one of the pioneers of the century. Their farm is testimony of his work and success as a farmer. After farming for many years they retired and moved to Stanley in 1937.

Mrs. Micke died in 1949, since that time he has made his home with his children. He was well known in Stanley and in Worden community, which held many years of memories for him, years which were the most active of his life.

Three sons, Joseph of Owen; Anthony of Thorp; Clarence of Gilman; a daughter, Mrs. Ben (Mildred) Kmiec, of Greenwood, survive, as do three brothers, Anthony, Thorp; Henry, Forest Junction; William, Kaukauna; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Nytes, Kaukauna; Miss Elizabeth Micke, Maple Grove and 16 grandchildren.

His wife, three sons, and a daughter preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Thursday morning at 9:30 at St. Anne’s Church with Father Edwin Knauf officiating. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
