Glaze, Ila J. (Ruesch) (20 JUN 1942 - 15 NOV 2013)

Ila J. Glaze, 71, Merrill, passed from this life on Friday, Nov. 15 at Aspirus Hospice House, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on June 20, 1942 in Medford, the daughter of the late Teddy and Mabel (Oldenberg) Ruesch. On October 2, 1970, she married Gerald Glaze in Watertown, S.D. He survives.

Ila was a 1960 graduate of Medford High School, then attended Business College in Minneapolis, Minn. For most of her working career, she had been employed as an executive secretary and retired as a legal secretary from the Law Offices of Fredrikson and Byron in Minneapolis.

After retirement, the Glazes moved to Wausau to be near family. Family was the center of her life and she loved the time spent with them, especially her grandchildren. Among her favorite pastimes were spending time at their retreat in Tomahawk Lake and being a tour guide at VanderGeest Dairy.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald Glaze of Merrill; son, Chad (Kristin) Glaze of Merrill; two grandchildren, Jase and Katy Glaze, both of Merrill; her siblings, Rex (Barb) Ruesch of Westboro, Rod (Paula) Ruesch of Abbotsford, Reno (Patti) Ruesch of Medford, Ray Ruesch of Spooner and Fae (Bob) Hopson of North Palm Beach, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at noon on Saturday, Dec. 7 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Ave., Wausau. Rev. Joy Nelson-Jeffers will officiate. Friends may call on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the Stewart Ave. funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com.
