Mykelby, Meredith (Marriage - 17 Aug. 1946)

Miss Meredyth Mykelby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Mykelby, of Star Lake, and Jack Kelsey, son of George H. Kelsey, Abbotsford, exchanged marriage vows at the Presbyterian church, Saturday evening, Aug. 17. The Rev. G. E. Griffith read the candle light service at 7:30 during which Miss Lenore Berry, of Wausau, sang "O Promise Me." Miss Mary Ann Hotvedt of Nelsonville, played the accompaniment.

For her wedding the bride wore an afternoon frock of white eyelet and a white ruffled halo. Her corsage was made of American Beauty roses.

The bride’s only attendant was Miss Doris Kelsey, sister of the groom. She wore a pink linen dress and a corsage of white gladioli.

James Mykelby, the bride’s brother, was best man.

Following the ceremony a wedding dinner for 25 guests was served at the home of the groom’s father by Mr. and Mrs. Vogler. A large wedding cake, lighted candles and flowers were used as a centerpiece on the table.

Mr. and Mrs. Kelsey left on a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin and will stop at Star Lake where a reception will be held at the home of the bride’s parents, Aug. 22. They will be at home to friends in Abbotsford after Aug. 28.

Mrs. Kelsey, a graduate of the Eagle River high school and Central State Teachers’ College, Stevens Point, where she was affiliated with Sigma Zeta sorority, teaches home economics in the Abbotsford high school. She has taught there the past two years.

Mr. Kelsey, a graduate of the Abbotsford high school, has served with the navy and is now associated with his father in the Kelsey Implement company.

Guests from away were Mr. and Mrs. Edward Mykelby and daughters, Phyllis and Mildred, and son, James, Mrs. Wilbur Kranz, Wausau; Miss Mary Ann Hotvedt, Nelsonville; Mr. and Mrs. Harlo La Fond, Madison.
