Lundahl, Helen Adelaide (Marriage - 16 Oct. 1946)
Miss Helen Adelaide Lundahl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Lundahl, became the bride of Norman Lukas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lukas, Route 1, Abbotsford, Wednesday morning. The Rev. Francis Brockman read the service before the 9:00 o’clock nuptial high mass, in St. Bernard’s church.
For her wedding the bride chose a powder blue gabardine suit with navy blue accessories. She wore a corsage of American beauty roses.
Attending the couple were Mrs. Casper Knab, a friend of the bride, and Robert Lundahl, brother of the bride.
Mrs. Knab wore a yellow suit with black accessories and a corsage of bronze chrysanthemums.
Vases of yellow and bronze chrysanthemums were used in the church decorations.
A wedding breakfast for the bridal party was served at the home of the bride’s parents and a 1:00 o’clock dinner and reception for the immediate families was held at the home of the bride’s parents. The centerpiece on the bridal table was a decorated cake, topped by a miniature bride and groom, tall white candles and yellow and bronze chrysanthemums.
The bride, who is a graduate of the Abbotsford high school, class of 1941, was employed the past five years as a secretary in Chicago.
After a short wedding trip north, Mr. and Mrs. Lukas will make their home on the farm with the groom’s parents.
