Orth, Ermine (Marriage - 12 Oct. 1946)

Miss Ermine Orth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Orth, Abbotsford, Route 1, chose her mother’s birthday anniversary for her wedding day. On Saturday, Oct. 12, at 10:00 o‘clock, she exchanged marriage vows with Roy Singstock, son of William Singstock, of Colby, Route 1, at St. Bernard‘s rectory with the Rev. Francis Brockman officiating at the double ring ceremony.

The bride wore an ensemble of white satin and net. The satin bodice was designed with a sweet heart neck line and long sleeves. The net skirt over satin had a long train as did the bridal veil of illusion, which fell from a beaded tiara. She wore a double string of pearls, the gift of the groom, and carried a shower bouquet of deep pink roses and white chrysanthemums.

Attending the bride as matron of honor was Mrs. Raymond Orth, of Colby, her sister-in-law. Mrs. George Roth, of Unity, cousin of the bride, was bridesmaid.

Both attendants wore frocks made alike, of net over satin with short, puffed sleeves and hip line peplums, edged in contrasting color, and full skirts. Mrs. Orth wore pink and Mrs. Roth wore blue. Their matching shoulder length veils were held by a wreath of pink roses. Each wore a gold heart and chain, wrist corsages of pink roses and white mums and carried lace handkerchiefs, the gift of the bride.

Attending the groom were Mr. Orth as best man, and Mr. Roth.

Mrs. Orth, the bride’s mother, wore a two piece dress of black crepe and a shoulder corsage of pink roses and white mums.

After the ceremony a luncheon was served at the home of the bride‘s parents, to the immediate families. A reception was held throughout the afternoon and supper was served at 5:30. The home was decorated with streamers to match the wedding color scheme of white, pink and blue, and vases of asters, dahlias and zinnias. The centerpiece on the bridal table was a three tier wedding cake, topped by a miniature bride and groom and white candles in crystal candelabra.

In the evening a wedding dance was held at Walter’s pavilion with music by Emil and his band.

Among the bride’s relatives from away were Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kugel and daughter, Nancy, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Myron Orth and family, Owen, and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bramucker, Medford. Relatives of the groom were his father, William Singstock, and Miss Violet Singstock, of Route 1, Colby, and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Zarnke, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Mrs. Singstock, a graduate of the Abbotsford High School with the class of 1943, has been employed for the past two years in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The groom is engaged in farming near Colby where they will reside when they return from a wedding trip spent in the southern part of the state.
