Lauscher, Ivan W. (FFA Honor Award - 1971)
The highest honorary degree
awarded by the State Future Farmers -- that of Wisconsin Farmer -- was awarded
to Ivan W. Lauscher, retiring superintendent of the Neillsville Public Schools,
during the organization’s convention at Green lake. The award was made Tuesday.
The award was made in recognition of Mr. Lauscher’s 29 years of service
to the Neillsville School District, as principal and superintendent, and his
service to agriculture at Neillsville High School.
“Mr. Lauscher always
recognized agriculture as an important part of the total school program,”
Richard Quast, Neillsville agriculture instructor and FFA chapter advisor
stated. “He always encouraged a well-rounded program and was fully in favor of
the change to semester classes in agriculture in the last year to permit a
greater number of students to take particular semester courses of greatest
interest to them.
“The Neillsville FFA is appreciative of Mr. Lauscher
for all the support he has given, and wish him the best of everything on his
retirement,” Mr. Quast said.
