Jacques, James Theodore (22 December 1894 - 10 June 1971)
Funeral services for James Theodore Jacques, 76, of Rt. 2 Neillsville, who
died June 10, were held Saturday, June 12, at 10 a.m. from St. Mary’s Catholic
Church in Neillsville. The Rev. Charles D. Brady officiate d and burial was made
in the parish cemetery. A rosary service was held Friday evening at the Georgas
Funeral Home, where the body of Mr. Jacques was in state.
James Jacques,
the son of George Leander and Barbara (Schwinn) Jacques, was born December 22,
1894, in Neillsville, where he received his early education. He graduated from
Neillsville High School and attended the University of Wisconsin.
A
veteran of World War I, Mr. Jacques left for Europe on June 5, 1918, with Co A
3rd Regiment F A Infantry. He received his discharge from the service at Ft.
Sheridan and returned to the University where he took up a course in
agriculture. His marriage to the former Clara Edwards took place in Madison on
November 30, 1921.
Mr. Jacques worked for the Title Guarantee Company for
many years, leaving the firm as a vice president in 1948. He worked for the
Hardy-Ryan Title Company until 1950 at which time he transferred (missing
portion).
