Dresden, Henry F. #2 (15 JUN 1833 - 15 OCT 1907)
Some time during Monday night, Henry F. Dresden passed into the land from which none return. He went to bed during the evening, and as he did not come down Tuesday morning at his usual time, Mrs. Bert Dresden called him and receiving no response, the door was broken in and the old gentleman was found dead.
Henry F. Dresden was born June 15, 1833 in Rutland Co., Vermont. In 1844 he came to Wisconsin, locating in Waupaca Co., later removing to La Crosse Co., where he worked for a railroad. From there he moved to Merrillan, taking up the practice of veterinary surgeon. Six years ago he came to Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.) to continue his practice and made his home with his son, Bert. Mr. Dresden leaves four sons and two daughters; John of Crosby, N.D., Fay of Baraboo, Frank of LaValle, Bert of this city, Mrs. J. R. Spear of LaMona, S.D., and Hattie of this city. He also leaves to sisters, Mrs. A. B. Balcoms of Blue Earth, Minn., and Mary Wilson of Fairmont, Minn.
Mr. Dresden, "Doc" as he was more familiarly known, was a pleasant and affable gentleman, was conscientious and honest in his conduct toward his fellow man and leaves many sincere friends who mourn his untimely demise. The funeral will be held today at 2 o’clock, services at Congregational Church.
