CALEDONIA -- Linda Ann (nee Johnson) Hughes, 57, passed away at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha on Monday, April 27, 2009.
Linda was born in the town of Lynn on Jan. 26, 1952, to Harvey and Joyce (nee Porath) Johnson. She attended schools in Granton, the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, and graduated from Gateway Technical College in Kenosha. On Sept. 22, 1973, she married Kenneth R. Hughes at St. Anthony's Church in Kenosha.
The loves and passions of Linda were her family, friends, gardening, traveling and motorcycling. Linda was employed by the State of Wisconsin in the Milwaukee County Courthouse for 35 years as a court reporter.
Linda is survived by her husband, Kenneth R. Hughes; children, Heather Hughes and Christopher Hughes; grandchildren, Shaun Hughes and Savannah Shea, all of Racine; her mother, Joyce Johnson of the town of Lynn; and her brothers, Duane (Charlotte) Johnson of the town of Lynn and Clifford (Christine) Johnson of Ishpeming, Mich. Linda is also survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father.
A Memorial Mass for Linda will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, at the corner of Erie and St. Patrick streets, on Saturday, May 2, 2009, at 10:30 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. John Aiello. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.
