Butler, Elsie #2 (1868 - 9 DEC 1907)

Mrs. Leo Butler died on Monday, Dec. 9, 1907, at her home at Tavares, Fla., aged 39 years. Mrs. Butler was born Elsie Hewett to Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Hewett, at one time residents of Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.). After the removal of the Hewett family to Florida, Miss Elsie was married to Geo. Butler, formerly of Nassaw, and her husband and four children survive her. She was buried on last Wednesday in the Eustis Cemetery, beside her father.

Mrs. Butler was a sister of Mamie, Raymond and Albion Hewett, all of Chicago. She shared the musical ability of the family and her talent as a pianist was somewhat developed while she was in school at Jacksonville. She was gifted with a loving, joyous nature that her Neillsville school friends will remember. To her father’s hospital home on the banks of Lake Elsie near Tavares she drew the young people of the nearby villages. Since her marriage her life has been lived out in Tavares where all were her devoted friends.
