Johnsrud, Lillian R. (6 MAR 1915 - 26 APR 2009)
Lillian R. Johnsrud, 94, Spencer, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 26, 2009, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 1, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. The Rev. Karl Rose and Rev. Robert Olson will officiate. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Lillian Ruth Oelrich was born on March 6, 1915, in Spencer, to Frank and Minnie (nee Korth) Oelrich. She graduated from Spencer school and completed two years of college.
She married Alfred Johnsrud at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer, on December 22, 1973. He preceded her in death.
In addition to being a loving wife and mother, she worked as a shoe cutter for Weinbrenner Shoe Company.
She cherished the time she could spend with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed flower gardening, cooking and baking. She was also renowned for having her candy and donuts. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the ladies aide. She will truly be missed.
She is lovingly survived by two children, Jean (George) Mess, Spencer, and Dennis (Ellen) Woodkey, Spencer; one sister, Bonnie (Bill) Plath; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; one son, Teddy; Three brothers; and two sisters.
A memorial in her name will be established at a later date.
