Neillsville (25 May 1916)

Miss Mable Holtz spent Sunday at Sparta.

Henry Clark and wife of Merrillan were in the city Tuesday.

Mrs. A. Matheson was at Marshfield Tuesday afternoon.

Thomas Lowe returned Tuesday from a brief business trip to Milwaukee.

Mrs. J.E. Allen of Whitehall is visiting at the home of W.J. Rush and wife.

The Pleasant Ridge baseball team will play the Shortville team next Sunday at West Corners.

Mrs. H.E. Bartell and daughter went to Wautoma Saturday to attend the funeral of an uncle.

Geo. Austin went to Belvidere, Ill., Tuesday to attend the reunion of his old regiment the 15th Ill. Infty.

O.F. Roessler of Jefferson, a member of the state board of control, spent Tuesday in this city on business.

Hon. Merlin Hull of Black River Falls was here Tuesday. This office received a brief, but pleasant, call from him.

Geo. Bue and wife arrived home last week from the west where they have spent the past several months, visiting and looking the country over. They had a delightful trip and are quite well, but glad to get home again.

There will be a dance at South Star Hall at Heintown on Friday night, June 2nd. Music by Neillsville orchestra. Everybody invited to come out and have a good time.

Mrs. P.N. Nelson is quite sick and her sister, Mrs. Rena Nelson, of Black River Falls is here assisting Mrs. Katherine Banderob, a trained nurse from Marshfield, to take care of her.
