Poole, Thomas #2 (24 JAN 1848 - 25 APR 1908)

Thomas Poole died last Saturday at his home in the town of Levis (Clark Co., Wis.) after an illness of about four weeks. Mr. Poole was one of the sterling farmers of this county and had always lived an upright conscientious life. On account of his honorable career his friends were numbered by the sore and his presence will be greatly missed in the community.

He was born in Woodsfield, Ohio, Jan. 24, 1848, where he grew to young manhood. In April 1865 he moved to Richland County, Wis., and on Jan. 4, 1869, he was united in marriage to Martha Jane Poff. To this union seven children were born, two of whom have preceded their father in death. Three sons and two daughters remain to comfort the bereaved widow, which are Mrs. H. H. Hunter, and Mrs. Walter Troxel, and Charles M. of Neillsville, Ernest of Oshkosh, William L., who resides with his mother, also fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He joined and was baptized in the Christian Church. Funeral services were held Monday at Dells Dam Church, Rev. Chapman officiating.
