Marilyn "Maty" Zwakman, 78, was called home to be with our Heavenly Father on June 5, 2010, in New Ulm, Minn. with her family by her side.

Marilyn was born to Edward & Eleanor (Ryan) Burgraff in Superior, Wis. on Dec. 8, 1931. She was married to John Zwakman in Pine City, Minn. on June 6, 1956. As a devoted wife and mother, Marilyn's mission in life was to spread the good news of the gospel and spent much time studying and researching her many areas of interest. If there was ever a question someone couldn't answer, Marilyn researched it until an answer was found.

She is lovingly survived by children Del and Georgie Zwakman, Daniel and Marla Zwakman, all of Cottage Grove, Minn, Jayne and Dan Leland of St. Paul Park, Minn. and Robb Zwakman and Amy and Jeff Tjernagel, all of New Ulm, Minn.; grandchildren, Schon, Dereck, Dawn, Jessica and Matthew; and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Joanne Cox of Panama City, Fla.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John on June 2, 2005.

Interment at Cottage Grove Cemetery on June 7, 2010, at noon. Minnesota Valley Funeral Home of New Ulm is in charge of the arrangements.

Marilyn was really so special, this woman so dear. We thank you Lord, that Your hands hold her near.
