Elgar was the son of Roy and Jessie King.  He was born in Wisconsin, 22 Nov 1906.  17 Nov 1926, Elgar was married to Hilda Rose Martha, the daughter of William and Bertha Dollase. She was born 6 Apr 1908 and was an eighteen year old bride.

September, 1934, while the young couple was living in a home vacated by Bill Millu, they purchased a wild 40 in Section 2 of the Town of Hewett , Clark Co., Wisconsin in order to build on it.

Elgar died 24 Aug, 1984 and Hilda passed away 24 Jan 1997.  They are both buried in the Neillsville, Wisconsin City Cemetery.
