Slawatyniec, Mike A. (18 SEP 1893 - 22 FEB 1952)
Mike Albert Slawatyniec of the Town of Mead (Clark Co., Wis.), passed away at the Stanley hospital on Feb. 22, 1952, after a lingering illness and an attack of pneumonia. He was 58 years of age.
The deceased was born in Poland on Sept. 18, 1893 and came to this county about 1913. He served in the first World’s War in the U.S. Army for a short time. About twenty years ago he purchased an eighty acre farm in the township of Mead, where he resided until death.
He is survived by his wife and five children.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Francis Piekarski at St. Hedwig’s Chapel in the city of Thorp at 10:00 o’clock Tuesday morning and interment took place in St. Hedwig’s Parish Cemetery.
Military rites were rendered by members of Cecil Tormey Post No. 118 of the American Legion with a salute by a firing squad and the sounding of taps. Pallbearers were, Peter Zukowski, Hjalmar Brandsness, Wilfred Vanderhyden, Thos. Polnaszek, Lief Larson and Wm. S. Wagner.
