Scheibe, Edwin Gottlieb (11 Dec. 1872 - 27 Apr. 1947)

 

Funeral services for Edwin Gottlieb Scheibe, 74 years old, who died at his home Sunday morning at 4:00 o‘clock, April 27, of heart trouble and complications, were held Wednesday, April 30, at 2:00 p.m. in the Presbyterian church.

The Rev. George E. Griffiths officiated and burial was made in the Abbotsford cemetery. The body had been lying in state at the Zink Funeral Home until the time of the funeral.

 

At the funeral services, Lloyd Smith, for whom Mr. Scheibe had worked for a number of years, sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "What A Friend We Have In Jesus." Mrs. W. R. Berger played the accompaniment.

Pall bearers for the funeral were John Schefsick, Louis Lueddecke, George Heida, Charles Schauss, Herman Johnson and John Anderson.

 

The flowers were carried by Mrs. M. C. Bunnell, Mrs. Fred Earl, Mrs. Walter Fults, Mrs. Wilbur Kuehnast, Mrs. Bernard Laabs, Mrs. Norma Johnson and Mrs. Lawrence Neitzel.

 

Mr. Scheibe was born at Sheboygan Falls, Dec. 11, 1872, and, at the age of 8 he moved with his parents to a farm in the town of Holton. He lived in the town of Holton until 1931 when he moved to Colby, and later moved to Abbotsford, where he resided until his death.

He was married to Della Lieders at Abbotsford on Nov. 24, 1911.

 

Mr. Scheibe was a member of the Evangelical and Reformed church at Dorchester before he moved to Colby, Wis.

 

He was injured in an accident while at work in Abbotsford and was in ill health since the mishap a year ago.

 

He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Harold (Wanda) Correll, and two grand children, James and Kathleen Correll, of Mound, Minn., and three sisters, Mrs. Joe (Amelia) Libera, Milwaukee; Mrs. Nick (Ida) Schramm, Milwaukee; and Mrs. Pete (Anna) Thompson, Milwaukee, and two brothers, Herman Scheibe, Milwaukee; and Charles Scheibe, Abbotsford, Wis. One brother, Henry Scheibe, preceded him in death.

 

Among those from away who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Harold Correll and two children, Mound, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lieders, Minneapolis; Mrs. A. F. Malmrose, St. Paul; Alfred Scheibe, Athens; Miss Caroline Scheibe, Milwaukee; and Mrs. Oscar Koffarnus, Colby, Wis.
