Syring, Shirley Bernice (Marriage - 3 May 1947)

 

Wearing an entrained slipper satin wedding gown inserted with lace, Miss Shirley Bernice Syring, town of Wien, daughter of Mrs. Irma Syring, Edgar, Route 4, and Ernest Peter, Abbotsford, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Peter, Edgar, Route 4, exchanged marriage vows. The ceremony was performed in St. John’s Lutheran church in the town of Wien, May 3, at 2:00 p.m. by the Rev. Ernest Notbohm.

 

Orange blossoms held her veil, which her mother had worn on her wedding day, and she carried red roses and calla lilies. Her pearls were a gift from the bridegroom.

 

Miss Geralding Briet, Stratford, wearing blue taffeta, was maid of honor. Miss Ione Winistorfer, Earville, Iowa, a cousin of the bride, bridesmaid, wore a similar frock. Both had wrist corsages of yellow and pink roses.

 

Romane Gotter, Loyal, and Arthur Peter, a brother, attended the bridegroom.

 

White, blue and yellow streamers decorated the Syring residence for the wedding dinner served to 100 guests after the ceremony. Later 250 persons were present for the reception.

 

Mrs. Peter, a graduate of the Stratford high school in 1945, has been employed at Wausau for a year. After June 1, the couple will be at home on the groom’s farm near Abbotsford, Wis.

 

Guests were present from Earville, Iowa, Milwaukee, Wausau, Marathon City, Colby, the town of Frankfort, Stratford, Marshfield, Chicago, Abbotsford, Fenwood, Athens, and Eau Claire.
