Leibole, William #2 (16 AUG 1890 - 20 AUG 1952)

William H. Leibole, 62, of 23 Viewdale, Wenatchee, Wash., passed away in a hospital there Aug. 27 (Previous notice said D. Aug. 20), following an illness of 10 days.

Mr. Leibole was born at Thorp (Clark Co.), Wis., on Aug. 16, 1890, and came to Leavenworth in 1911, where he engaged with the Great Northern Railroad. When the terminal moved to Wenatchee in 1923, Mr. Leibole went there to make his home.

He was married to Edna Irene Wise at Missoula, Mont., in 1923 and they returned to Wenatchee and resided there since.

A world War I veteran of the Army, Mr. Leibole had been an engineer for the Great Northern Railway for 40 years. He was a member of the Wenatchee Order No. 204 Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Engineers.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Edna Leibole of Wenatchee, one son, John H. Leibole of the U.S. Navy, stationed at Bremerton; one brother, Frank J. Leibole of Bismarck, N.D.; two sisters, Mrs. Olive DeBock of Miles City, Mont., and Mrs. Roy Gibbs of Rock Springs, Mont.; a niece, Mrs. Dan Zimmerman of Wenatchee; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Sept. 2, Rev. Paul Stecher officiating.
