West Side Aid meets at Mrs. Fred Kuester's Wednesday Oct. 6.

Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Beyer were Owen visitors Saturday.

Mrs. O.C. Behrens spent from Tuesday until Friday with friends at Neillsville.

Miss Hattie Szymanski of Nekoosa spent Sunday at the home of her sister, Mrs. A.D. Lyon.

Miss Marie Boecher of North Milwaukee is spending a few days at the Lutheran Parsonage.

Mr. and Mrs. M.E. Kenyon and son and Mrs. Church and daughter spent Sunday at Eau Claire.

Mr. and Mrs. John Arends and Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Guptil were Chippewa Falls visitors on Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Barr and Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Fradette spent Sunday evening at the Dr. K.W. Baker home at Owen.

The W.C.T.U. will meet at the home of Mrs. M.K. Aaberg Tuesday evening, Oct. 5th. Refreshments will be served. Everybody is welcome.

The 500 Club met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hinker Sunday evening. Miss Anna Lindner, Chris Scharenbrock and John Bushman won first prizes, and Mrs. Wm. Denk and Nemor Vandehey won consolation prizes. All had a very enjoyable time.

Dr. and Mrs. F.A. Boeckman and daughter Kathryn, Mr. and Mrs. C.J. Carter and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Arbs were among those who attended "The Big Parade" at Marshfield last Wednesday evening from this city.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hepburn spent Sunday with relatives and friends and Eau Claire.

Miss Emma Sweet, who has been spending the summer here with her sister, Mrs. A.J. Currie, left Tuesday for St. Paul.

Mrs. Howard Stilwell and son are spending the week with her parents at Spokeville.

Freeman Fremming of Dallas called on friends here Sunday.

Mrs. A.C. Barr and daughters Elsie and Hazel were Neillsville visitors Friday evening.

Mrs. Archie Lyon entertained the Schafskopf Club Friday evening.

The stockyards at the F. & N.E. railroad are being repaired and a new sidewalk is also being put in.

Chas. Guptil and family, who have been touring the west, arrived here last Wednesday for an indefinite visit with friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Borham and Mrs. Jos. Merkel were Marshfield visitors last Wednesday.

Dance at Will Syth barn Thursday night, Sept. 30th. Music by Original Dance Land Entertainers.

Mrs. Mary Gries returned home Friday from an extended visit with relatives at Manitowoc, St. Nazianz, and Timothy, Wis.

Mr. and Mrs. P.C. Johnson spent several days of last week at the Morris Anderson home at Stevens Point.

Mrs. Fred Behrens entertained the Octette Club at her home Monday evening.

Mrs. W. Bartelt and Mrs. Eugene McMahon and daughters Arlene and Margaret spent Saturday at Loyal.

There will be Sunday School at 9:00 a.m. and services at 10:00 a.m. at the Reformed Church on the West Side next Sunday.

Mrs. Ed Arends and Mrs. Earl Sloniker entertained 500 at the Arends home on Tuesday and Wednesday evening of this week. A very enjoyable time was had by all in attendance.

Mike Simon of route two left Saturday for Holbrook, Neb., where he will make his future home with relatives and friends.

Mrs. Adolph Schwarze and Mrs. H.M. Pratt entertained the Birthday Club at the Schwarze home last Wednesday evening.

Roy Sheets and George Haeuser were at Marshfield Saturday.

Mr. Henry Bushman went to Marshfield Monday on business.

W.W. Brown of Marshfield is spending the week here at the home of his son Louis and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Beyer visited relatives at Veefkind Tuesday.

Pete Krieg of Marshfield visited his mother, Mrs. Henry Warner and other friends here Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Leberg of Milwaukee and M.A. Leberg of Portage spent the weekend here with relatives and friends.

H.F. Stabnow left Monday for Aberdeen, S.D. on a combined pleasure and business trip.

John O'Connell and daughter Irene and Master James Neuenfeldt left Wednesday for a visit with relatives and friends at Beaver Dam and Fox Lake.

Jack Moberg of Wausau is spending the week here at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ole Moberg.

Mrs. Jos. Merkel received the sad news yesterday morning of the death of her father, Peter Blum, at Marshfield. Mr. Blum had been ill for some time.

Adolph Zettler, John Witt, Wm. Koehler and Mike Berg of Marshfield were here Sunday angling for fish in Black River. They also called at the Gullord home. Mr. Zettler is a brother of Mrs. Gullord.

Mrs. B.H. Perry of Chicago arrived here Sunday and is spending the week at the home of her sister, Mrs. F.A. Oelig.

Mr. A. Leberg and son of Portage spent from Friday until Sunday at the B.F. Ketchpaw home.

A large number of girls had a surprise party on Miss Ruth Sischo at the M.E. Church basement Saturday evening, the occasion being Ruth's birthday. All present report a very enjoyable time.
